Paste BN's circle is kind of square to Colbert

Stephen Colbert hates change, especially when it comes to his favorite newspaper, "The Paste BN."

"I was truly upset when I heard that my favorite newspaper, The Paste BN, was getting a dramatic redesign," the anchor of Comedy Central's The Colbert Report said on his show Tuesday. "It turns out I was worrying for nothing. Because in a digital era, where print media is struggling, Paste BN is focusing their energy where it counts: the logo."

He displayed the new front page. "Ladies and gentlemen, did they deliver! Boom! A blue circle! Serendipitously, this is also a pie chart showing the percentage of people confused by The Paste BN's new logo."

"From now on, when news breaks that's circular in nature, The Paste BN will be all over it, folks, whether it be about planets, tractor tires, The Wheel of Fortune, pizzas, bagels, pizza bagels, or Cee Lo Green's head."

But news of squares and triangles may not shape up. "If SpongeBob SquarePants ever chokes on a Dorito at the Pentagon," Colbert said, "you won't read about it in The Paste BN."

The leader of Colbert Nation offered a final "bravo, The Paste BN," before showing a blue circle representing the demise of Paste BN's graphics staff when forced to come up with circular themes every day.

Publisher Larry Kramer called Colbert's parody "fantastic" and "great fun."
