TV tonight: 'Tim Hetherington,' 'Parks and Recreation'
Robert Bianco is off today.
Which Way Is the Front Line from Here? The Life and Time of Tim Hetherington | HBO, 8 ET/PT
Two years after his death, Hetherington, the producer of the Oscar-nominated documentary Restrepo, about a remote 15-man Army outpost in Afghanistan, is remembered in an HBO documentary. His co-producer, filmmaker Sebastian Junger (The Perfect Storm), traces the British photojournalist's work in war zones around the world, particularly West Africa and the Middle East. Hetherington and a second photographer were killed in a mortar blast in Libya in April 2011.
Parks and Recreation | NBC, 9 ET/PT
Fans of Pawnee get a double-run of the Amy Poehler comedy tonight, with a particularly funny guest bit by comic Patton Oswalt as a political foe who filibusters to prevent a City Council vote as Leslie tries to get outdated laws from the town charter changed. Then in the second half-hour, Jerry's sudden announcement that's he's retiring (and carrying out his belongings as he does so) catches everyone in the office by surprise.
Person of Interest | CBS, 10 ET/PT
Elementary takes a break from its usual slot, and Person of Interest slides into it with a repeat from November that finds Reese in an uncomfortable situation — undercover as just a regular guy — as the machine's latest number sends him out to the suburbs to help a hardware store owner harboring a secret.
