Brooklyn Nine-Nine | Fox, 8:30 ET/PT

Terry goes back into the field and Amy and Rosa investigate a break-in at Gina's apartment on this now award-winning sitcom. Historically, a Golden Globe win has no impact on a show's ratings. Still, if by chance the victories by the show and its star, Andy Samberg, can draw a few more viewers to this deserving but under-watched series, we'll file that under the category of "ill wind blowing good."

Salinger | PBS, 9 ET/PT (times may vary)

After a big-screen run, this documentary on the private life of the famously reclusive author J. D Salinger (The Catcher in the Rye) comes home to American Masters. When it premiered, Paste BN's Claudia Puig summed it up as "flawed but engrossing," criticizing it for some irritating re-enactments and a "breathless swath that feels like an infomercial for his upcoming posthumous books." Still, she said, "it's an exhaustively researched look at a compelling subject" – and for fans of that subject, that's probably enough.

The Goldbergs | ABC, 9 ET/PT

The last few weeks, this nostalgic family comedy seemingly has come to realize that its strength lies in its family, not in nostalgia, which has allowed the characters to take precedence over the '80s details. Let's hope that trend continues tonight, as Adam goes to his first dance, with his mother tagging on as a chaperone. That's the kind of universal story that can span the decades.
