Weekend TV: 'Black Sails,' 'Bachelor' wedding, Grammys

Black Sails | Starz, Saturday, 9 ET/PT
Remember the simple childhood pleasure you took in such pirate swashbucklers as Treasure Island, Captain Blood, The Crimson Pirate or Pirates of the Caribbean? Well, now forget it. This Treasure Island prequel is a pirate story put through the Starz breast-and-blood blender, with the sex and violence set to high. Starz will tell you that's the adult approach, which may be the best argument for hanging on to your youth a TV company has ever made. Yo ho – no.
The Grammy Awards | CBS, Sunday, 8 ET/tape-delayed PT
There are seemingly thousands of music awards shows. There is still only one Grammys: The award every musician wants most and the music award performers always list first on their resumes. It's also one of the most reliably entertaining of all the award programs, one that has morphed into a super-sized variety show occasionally interrupted by prizes. This year's performers include Carole King, John Legend, Keith Urban, Katy Perry — and, together, one hopes, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
The Bachelor: Sean and Catherine's Wedding | ABC, Sunday, 8 ET/PT
There's so much good TV competing for your attention Sunday between 8 and 10. There's the Grammys, of course, but you also have Downton Abbey (which has a great story for Violet tonight) on PBS and True Detective on HBO. Or there's The Bachelor. Watch it instead if you prefer. Just don't tell me about it.
