TV tonight: 'Big Bang,' 'Community,' 'Crazy Ones'

The Big Bang Theory | CBS, 8 ET/PT
Many sitcoms have used the kids-catch-their-parents-having-sex twist. But usually, the kids are a lot younger than Sheldon, who pays a surprise visit to his mom tonight and gets surprised in return. It's a jolt, but he's still probably better off with mom than at home, where Raj is throwing a murder mystery party that would almost certainly have annoyed him. As for Sheldon's mom, she's played by returning guest Laurie Metcalf, whose visits are always welcome, surprises or not.
Community | NBC, 8 ET/PT
This NBC comedy, which often attracts unusual guests, has another tonight in Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, who makes his acting debut as a man who triggers a fight between roommates Abed and Annie. He should feel right at home: One of the episode's other stars is Bad veteran Jonathan Banks. In this case, whether or not Gilligan can act almost doesn't matter. When you've given us a show as good as Bad, you've earned at least a one-episode pass.
The Crazy Ones | CBS, 9:30 ET/PT
Earlier we learned that Simon hates Australia and isn't so fond of Australians. Now we find out that he's not enamored of Ireland, either – or, to be precise, that he loathes all things related to St. Patrick's Day. And his loathing only intensifies when Andrew's sisters come to celebrate.
