Showtime orders another season of 'Penny Dreadful'

Scary Penny Dreadful will be back for Season 2.

Showtime President David Nevins announced today that he has given an order for 10 more episodes of the thriller starring Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton and Eva Green.

"Picking up Penny Dreadful was one of the easiest decisions I've made," said Nevins.

The fifth episode of the series airs Sunday at 10 p.m. ET/PT, and Showtime promises viewers "will learn the shocking truth behind the bond that connects Sir Malcolm (Dalton), Vanessa (Green) and Mina ( Llewellyn)."

And in case you haven't caught any of the episodes, Showtime will air two Penny Dreadful marathons on Saturday, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and then again from 11:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. Viewers can also catch up on the first four episodes with Showtime on Demand.

Shooting will take place in Dublin for the 2015 launch of the second season.
