Sunday TV: 'Shadow of a Doubt,' 'Walking Dead,' 'CSI'
Shadow of a Doubt | TCM, Sunday, 8 ET/5 PT
There's more than one way to scare people. The Walking Dead takes the blunt approach — but for longer-lasting fright, the kind that stays with you years after the movie ends, turn to this Alfred Hitchcock classic, which plays into every child's fear about a slightly odd visiting relative.
The Walking Dead | AMC, Sunday, 9 ET/PT
One of TV's most popular series among younger viewers returns for a fifth season — though once again, the season will be split in half, which means you only get an eight-episode run of zombie crunching and killing this fall with more to follow in the winter. Oh, and how confident is AMC that those episodes will continue to be among TV's most watched? Dead's already been renewed for season six — a topic that may well come up on Talking Dead, the show that follows at 10.
CSI | CBS, Sunday, 10 ET/PT
Life hasn't been easy over the past 14 years for our Las Vegas investigators, who have seen and gone through all manner of horrors. So it figures that eventually, Sara and Greg would find themselves at a contaminated crime scene, exposed to a pathogen and quarantined. They should consider themselves lucky they're not on The Strain — because the exposure survival rate there is pretty much nil.
