'Games of Thrones' to be shown in IMAX theaters

In what HBO is calling a first, Games of Thrones will be soon be showing at an IMAX theater near you.

HBO has announced that on Jan. 23, it will become the first television network to feature its programming in IMAX theaters when it shows two episodes from Season 4 of Game of Thrones followed by a special sneak-peek trailer for Season 5.

The episodes will be digitally re-mastered for IMAX for the one-week engagement in some 150 IMAX theaters across the country. Fans can check imax.com for screening information.

"The cinematic brilliance and grand scope of the series is perfect for the IMAX format," said Pamela Levine, chief marketing officer at HBO.

So which two episodes will we get?

Episode 9, The Watchers on the Wall, which takes place entirely at The Wall and features one of the most intense battle scenes ever. And episode 10, the season finale titled The Children in which Tyrion faces the truth of his situation (you know what he did!).
