Weekend TV: Globes, 'Glee,' 'Togetherness'

Glee
Fox, Friday, 8 ET/PT
Glee begins its final run as the gang reunites to reinstate the banished glee club. Let's hope this reset helps return the show to at least some of its lost charm and glory. Otherwise, what was the point of bringing back a series most viewers had left for dead?
The Golden Globes
NBC, Sunday, 8 ET/5 PT
It's time once again for that modern miracle of arts and sciences, The Golden Globe Awards, which have somehow managed to convince the media to pretend that these bogus prizes had some sort of artistic legitimacy. Even their vaunted claim to be an Oscar bellwether is wildly exaggerated, as odds are good that the Globes don't so much influence Oscar voters as guess which way those voters are likely to turn and head in that direction. It's a great party, but as with many an event where people drink too much and say things they don't really mean, it's best to forget it ever happened come dawn.
Togetherness
HBO, Sunday, 9:30 ET/PT
HBO separates its returning Girls (9 ET/PT) and Looking (10 ET/PT) with this new slice-of-unpleasant-life comedy about the pressures put on a struggling marriage when the husband's loser best friend and the wife's adrift sister move in. The upshot is one of those for-insiders-only vanity projects of which HBO is oddly fond.
