TV tonight: 'Parks and Rec,' 'Person of Interest'

Parks and Recreation
NBC, 8 ET/PT
This cult-favorite NBC comedy begins a final 13-episode season tonight with a double run of episodes — a pattern that will continue until the one-hour finale. The move has upset some fans who see it as a burn-off, which, in part, it is. But considering Parks'always-anemic ratings, fans should probably be grateful the show made it to a second season, let alone a seventh — and doubly grateful that NBC gave it a chance to wrap up its stories. Not every series is treated nearly as well.
Person of Interest
CBS, 10 ET/PT
Speaking of upset — or at least very surprised — fans, Person of Interest viewers are probably still reeling from last week's shocker, the possible death of Sarah Shahi's Sameen Shaw. (The show is not saying whether Shaw is dead or Shahi is returning, but the actress will certainly be missing through the remainder of her pregnancy.) Now the team must regroup, which may be particularly tough for Root, who shared a kiss with Shaw before the shooting. They'll start with a story that features Camryn Manheim as the person in charge of handling the numbers for the government.
Frontline: Putin's Way
PBS, 10 ET/PT (times may vary)
Back in the equally troubling real world, Frontline and the CBC combine for this look at Russia's president. It examines his controversial past and equally controversial present.
