Nielsens: Football, 'Parks and Rec'

Football time. ESPN's College Football Championship (33.4 million viewers Monday), the NCAA's first, set another cable record, while CBS' blowout AFC Championship Game (42.1 million) was followed by a special Scorpion (12.3 million), which despite the big lead-in earned only a minor bump.

Premieres. The final-season premiere of NBC's Parks and Recreation (3.8 million viewers for the first of Tuesday's two episodes), scored its biggest audience in two years. Lifetime biopic Whitney (4.5 million Saturday) was the network's top movie since last January's Flowers in the Attic (6.1 million). Syfy's 12 Monkeys debuted with 1.4 million Friday.

Awards time. CW's inaugural World Dog Awards woofed with 2 million viewers Thursday, easily besting A&E's first telecast of the Critics' Choice Awards (1 million), which drew half the audience of last year's on CW.
