Netflix beefs up the cast of 'Marvel's Luke Cage'
Things are getting crowded on Marvel's Luke Cage.
Marvel announced on its website this week that Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley and Rosario Dawson have been added to the upcoming Netflix series, which will premiere on the streaming service in 2016.
Missick (Ray Donovan) will be playing Misty Knight, a detective who in the comics has a bionic arm made for her by Iron Man. Rossi (Sons of Anarchy) joins as Shades, a criminal with ties to Cage's past. Whaley (Ray Donovan) will pick up the role of Rafael Scarfe, a detective who partners with Misty Knight in her investigation of Luke Cage. Dawson will reprise her role of Claire Temple (aka the Night Nurse), who she appeared as in Marvel's Daredevil earlier this year on Netflix.
It has already been announced that Mike Colter (best known for The Good Wife) will be playing the titular superhero, who has unbreakable skin and super-strength after an experiment-gone wrong. Colter will first appear as Cage in Marvel's Jessica Jones, which released its first photos Thursday and premieres on Netflix on Nov. 20.
