Leonard Nimoy's son to appear on 'Big Bang Theory'

The Big Bang Theory is getting a very special guest.

The show announced on its Twitter and Facebook accounts this week that Leonard Nimoy's son, Adam, will appear on the show's Nov. 5 episode, "The Spock Resonance." It appears that he will be playing himself.

Here's the episode's synopsis, from CBS:

In "The Spock Resonance," recurring guest star Wil Wheaton will appear alongside Adam, an accomplished writer and director in real life, who asks Sheldon Cooper to be in a documentary about his beloved father, Leonard.

While being interviewed, Sheldon struggles to suppress his emotions about his recent break-up with Amy, despite his overwhelming excitement for the sci-fi subject matter.

The show also shared this photo of Adam Nimoy in the episode:

Leonard Nimoy never appeared physically on Big Bang -- only voicing a Spock action figure in a dream sequence in one episode -- but his influence has been constantly felt throughout the very nerdy show. It has even featured a game called “Rock, Paper, Scissors … Lizard, Spock.”

When the Star Trek star died earlier this year, the show paid tribute to him on-air.
