What's new on streaming for August?

August highlights from major streaming and cable on-demand services:

Aug. 1: Meet the Donors: Does Money Talk?  (HBO Go, HBO Now).  Alexandra Pelosi (Journeys With George),  the daughter of House minority leader Nancy Pelosi, offers a Campaign Finance 101 in this documentary, as wealthy donors talk about why they're willing to funnel so much cash to politicians.

Ashley Jensen (Ugly Betty) stars as the title character, a refugee from the London PR world who enters a quiche-making contest in her new town, only to be named a suspect when one of the savory pastries is used to kill someone. The movie served as a pilot for an eight-episode mystery series, which arrives on Acorn a week later.
