Emily Blunt, Tom Hanks tapped as 'SNL' hosts
Emily Blunt will host and Bruno Mars will be the musical guest on NBC's Saturday Night Live Oct. 15, while Tom Hanks hosts and Lady Gaga is the musical act on Oct. 22.
The third episode of the late-night series' 42nd season (11:30 ET/PT) is timed to Blunt's starring role in The Girl on the Train, opening Friday, and the release of Mars' third album, 24K Magic, announced Friday and out Nov. 18.
Hanks stars in .Inferno, opening Oct. 28, the next chapter in the Da Vinci Code series, and Gaga's fifth studio album, Joanne, is out Oct. 21.
SNL's Oct. 1 opener, hosted by Margot Robbie and opening with a Clinton-Trump debate parody that introduced Alec Baldwin as Trump, drew 8.3 million viewers, the show's biggest audience since 2008, kicking off another presidential election season. This weekend's show will be hosted by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton). The show will take a week off Oct. 29 before an election-week episode.
