ABC picks up full season of 'American Housewife'
ABC has given a vote of confidence to American Housewife, ordering a full season of the new Tuesday comedy.
The network late Friday announced it is picking up nine additional episodes of Housewife, building on the initial 13-episode order.
In Housewife, Mike & Molly's Katy Mixon plays Katie Otto, a wife and mother of three raising her "flawed family" in a wealthy Connecticut town "filled with 'perfect' mommies and their 'perfect' offspring," as ABC describes it.
Housewife, which premiered in October, has been averaging 7.7 million viewers. The series also stars Diedrich Bader, Meg Donnelly, Daniel DiMaggio, Julia Butters, Carly Hughes and Ali Wong.
ABC previously announced full-season pickups of another family comedy, Speechless, and the Kiefer Sutherland drama, Designated Survivor.
