Arnold Schwarzenegger: 'Stop whining' about Trump

Arnold Schwarzenegger has a very Arnold Schwarzenegger message for approximately half of the American electorate: "Stop whining."

During a visit to the Today show, the host of NBC's The New Celebrity Apprentice (premiering Jan. 2, 8 ET/PT), was asked about the discord leading to Trump's inauguration.

Schwarzenegger, who did not endorse Trump for president and even encouraged fellow Republicans to vote for someone else, told Matt Lauer, “What's changed is that now he is elected, and now it is very important that we all support the president, and that we all come together and we stop whining and it becomes one nation.”

He conceded that's not generally how Washington works, but said, "That's the effort we all have to make. I'm 100% behind him and I'm going to everything I can to help."

The former California governor went on to stress the importance of acting as a "public servant, not a party servant."

He also touched on whether it's appropriate that Trump will continue to have an executive producer credit on the show while president.

“I think it’s perfectly fine that he has executive producer credit because he created the show with Mark Burnett together, so why should his credit go?”

That said, Schwarzenegger says, the president-elect will not likely not have time to give him notes on the new incarnation of Apprentice.

“He made it very clear that he has no interest in being involved," the former California governor asserted. "It is now my show, I’m the host, I’m the new boss and I’m going to run this show.”

Maybe, but we wouldn't rule out a few late-night tweets from POTUS.
