Marvel-ous news: Fox adds 'The Gifted,'with Amy Acker, Stephen Moyer

Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker are coming back to life on TV on Fox's new Marvel series The Gifted.

Their biggest TV characters to date  — his True Blood vampire and her Person of Interest hacker — both died at the end of their respective series.

Now they'll join forces Reed and Caitlin Strucker, a pair of suburban parents forced to go on the run to protect their children, who possess mutant powers, from a hostile government. They and their kids Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind, The Goldbergs) and Andy (Percy Hynes White, Between) become part of an underground network in order to survive.

The Gifted will also star Jamie Chung (Once Upon a Time), Sean Teale (Reign), Coby Bell (The Game), Emma Dumont (Aquarius) and Blair Redford (Satisfaction).

The creative team is being headed up by executive producer/writer Matt Nix (Burn Notice) and director Bryan Singer, who knows a thing or two about mutants, having helmed four X-Men movies.
