'Downton Abbey' creator, star Elizabeth McGovern reunite for 'The Chaperone'

Lady Grantham, aka Cora, is coming back to PBS.

Elizabeth McGovern, who starred as the beloved character in the award-winning Masterpiece production Downton Abbey, is reuniting with series creator Julian Fellowes and director Michael Engler for a feature film based on Laura Moriarty's bestseller, The Chaperone, that will air later on PBS.

It's another period piece for the Downton crew.  Set in the 1920s,  the novel is about a Kansas woman (McGovern) who chaperones a talented 15-year-old dancer (Julia Goldani Telles, The Affair) to New York for the summer.

In a statement, Masterpiece executive producer Rebecca Eaton called The Chaperone "a beautifully told period drama set in a changing world, but now the setting is New York City.”
