Humanity From Space
PBS, 8 ET/PT (times may vary)

This PBS special combines shots taken from space with computer effects to present a global history of humanity, while also showing the effect we've had on the planet we occupy. Chances are the views from outer space will be pretty — and what we learn about our planetary impact will be somewhat less so.

So You Think You Can Dance
Fox, 8 ET/PT

Fox's ratings-troubled but Emmy-nominated talent show takes a break from its current competition for a 10-year anniversary look at "a decade of dance." Along with clips of some of the show's best dances, we're promised live performances by some favorite dancers. Those who love Dance but share my lack of enthusiasm for its revamped format — with its superfluous overlay of team competition and reduced emphasis on individual talent and training — may want to use this hour as a reminder of what the show once was, and with luck, will be again.

Knock Knock Live
Fox, 9 ET/PT

Ryan Seacrest hosts this show in which unsuspecting homeowners are greeted at their door by TV cameras and celebrity-issued challenges from the likes of Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Martha Stewart and Robin Thicke. If that sounds like fun to you, instead of your worst nightmare come true, enjoy.
