Watch: Sigourney Weaver visits 'Doc Martin'

Sigourney Weaver spent part of her summer with Doc Martin.

That's right. The Aliens and Gorillas in the Mist actress visited the fictional English seaside village of Portwenn and portrayed —what else? — an American tourist on the comedy drama Doc Martin. The Series 7 episode featuring her cameo is available Monday on Acorn.tv, a paid streaming subscription service.

Doc Martin revolves around Martin Clunes' character who is an awkward, uptight and stubborn doctor.  He meets Weaver's character at the pharmacy run by Mrs. Tishall, who is played by Selina Cadell. Weaver and Cadell have been friends for decades.

Weaver tells Britain's The Telegraph about the popular series: “I got the box-set from Barnes and Noble and fell in love with it – it’s so charming and addictive."
