Reader tip: Recycle used dryer sheets?

It might never have occurred to you to recycle those anti-static fabric softener sheets after tossing them in the clothes dryer. But Shea Shannon of Melbourne, Fla., has a few ideas.

"We all have used dryer sheets, but now there is a great way to give them other uses," she says. "I use them to easily scoop up dust and hairs from the bathroom counters, sink and floor. Just swipe all surfaces — works like a charm!

"They even work well to clean up the interior surfaces of your car between those really thorough cleanings."
