Womankind, a series within Humankind, highlights American women helping their communities

As the Paste BN Network commemorates the centennial of the 19th Amendment, women who you may not know will have the spotlight on the work they are doing to improve communities across America.

Womankind, a spin-off series within the popular Humankind franchise, will showcase moments of triumph of 10 women's endeavors that aim to improve the lives of people around them. Paste BN producers sifted through hundreds of submissions from around the country to get to the final 10. The video series launched on August 14 in connection with Paste BN's Women of the Century project.

"The women in Womankind inspire men, women and children to think about how they themselves can be better, do better and want better for their loved ones," said Executive Producer of Womankind and the larger Humankind brands, Lauren Ready. "The relatability of these everyday women helps our audience connect with these stories and be inspired to be extraordinary themselves."

The Womankind series will feature entrepreneurs, small business owners, children, mentors, volunteers, teachers, pilots, mothers, grandmothers, among other women.

One of the videos features a group dedicated to distributing masks to vulnerable communities, while others feature projects aiming to uplift, influence and impact the lives and wellbeing of trans women of color in Detroit.
