Whether your team won or lost, you probably shed a tear this Super Bowl Sunday, thanks to a string of very emotional high-budget advertisements.

Leading the pack on social media is a tearjerker ad spot from insurance provider Nationwide.

The 47-second sucker-punch to your tear ducts stars your classic little boy underdog talking about all the things he'll never do -- learn to ride a bike, kiss a girl and "get cooties," travel the world with his best friend.

Then, in his young voice, full of hope and potential: "I couldn't grow up, because I died in an accident."

Boom. Try enjoying your 7-layer dip and a well-timed first down after that. You can't.

The ad is part of Nationwide Insurance's #MakeSafeHappen campaign, which raises awareness that the No. 1 cause of childhood deaths is preventable accidents.

Other ads making us feel all the feels:

Nissan: 'Father and Son'

Twitter reacted the same way this reporter did, by crawling into a metaphorical fetal position and internally sobbing. In fact, #DownerBowl is trending.
