Virgin America posts record profit for 2014
Virgin America which went public in November, scored a full year profit of $60.1 million, and $3.9 million for the fourth quarter, counting special items.
Not counting special items, the carrier which is known for its service and cool aesthetic, posted an $84.4 million profit for all of 2014, the highest ever for the young airline. It posted a $28.1 million for the last three months of the year, not counting special items.
"2014 was a remarkable year for Virgin America on every front," David Cush, Virgin America's president and CEO said in a statement. "We achieved record profitability and significantly strengthened our balance sheet by going public in the second largest airline IPO in history.
