Al Gore, Kim Kardashian, Pharrell among celebs at Cannes ad festival
CANNES, France – The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity not only attracts the biggest names in advertising, marketing and media, it also lures in notable figures in music, politics, technology, film, theater and television.
Famous folks at this year's festival – which is the communication industry's largest trade show and awards event – included former vice president Al Gore, actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, singers Pharrell Williams and Will.i.am, TV host Ryan Seacrest and reality TV star Kim Kardashian.
Some big-name stars weren't on the formal agenda but made a showing at private parties. Sting, for instance, wowed the crowd by belting out songs such as Roxanne and Message in a Bottle during a swanky soiree hosted by media and entertainment company iHeartMedia and advisory firm MediaLink.
In the audience was singer Mariah Carey, who performed at the same party last year.
