JetBlue announces second-quarter earnings
JetBlue (JBLU) reported a second-quarter profit of $152 million, or 44 cents per share, along with a boost in operating income.
The carrier said that its operating income in the April to June quarter rose to $282 million from $141 million reported during that period last year.
Shares were down 1.67% to $22.35 before the market opened Tuesday.
The airline reports its most recent quarterly results in the wake of a series of significant changes, including the implementation of checked-bag fees for the first time and plans to expand its year-old premium Mint service to Boston and the Caribbean.
