Amazon’s consumer CEO Jeffrey Wilke is retiring in 2021
Amazon's CEO of worldwide consumer Jeffrey Wilke will retire from the company in 2021.
The e-commerce giant announced the news in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday. Amazon confirmed to Paste BN that Wilke shared the news with employees via email.
Wilke has served in his current role since April 2016. He is at the helm of Amazon stores, Prime, operations, technology, and marketing. He first joined Amazon in 1999 to lead global operations.
Upon his departure, Wilke will be replaced by Dave Clark, who is currently senior vice president of retail operations, Amazon said in the filing. Clark also joined the company in 1999 and has held numerous key roles across Amazon before being named to his current position in January 2013.

Amazon has two other people who hold the title of CEO.
At the top, there is Jeff Bezos, the founder of the online marketplace and CEO. Below his role are two deputies. Along with Wilke's role, Andy Jassy is the CEO of Amazon Web Services which encompasses the cloud and computing arm of the company.
