Is the US stock market open on Good Friday 2023? Here's what to know.
The U.S. stock market will close on Friday, April 7, in observance of Good Friday and reopen on Monday, April 10, at its usual time of 9:30 a.m. ET.
Good Friday is the Friday before Easter Sunday. Since it is not a federal holiday, almost everything else will be open.
The U.S. bond market will open at its usual 8 a.m. EDT on Friday but close early at noon EDT. Regular hours resume on Monday.
Banks will also be open, but you may want to check the hours before you head out. Local observances for Good Friday may differ from the federal government's observance.
The stock market's closure means it will not react immediately to a key economic report due out Friday at 8:30 a.m. ET, when the government's Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports the number of jobs added to the economy in March. Economists, on average, expect 240,000 nonfarm jobs were added.

Recent jobs data have pointed to a cooling jobs market, but investors will be keen to see if the monthly labor report mirrors that. This will be the Federal Reserve's final read on the labor market before deciding whether to extend the current tightening cycle to fight high inflation.
The Fed's next policy meeting is May 2-3.
