Furniture and meatballs: IKEA opening new locations in 2025 and 2026. Here's where.
Swedish furniture giant IKEA will continue to expand its American footprint in 2025.
The globally-recognized company has already opened five locations in the U.S. this year, with plans to open six more before the end of 2025, a company spokesperson told Paste BN. The company also has early plans to open two more stores in 2026, with more possible.
At the end of the 2024 fiscal year, the company reported having 51 stores and 10 Plan and Order points across the country, with 39 total pick-up locations.
Plan and Order points differ from the traditional IKEA large-format stores as it gives customers a chance to chat with workers and order furnishing solutions that "require a bit more help - such as kitchen, bathroom and closet storage systems," according to the store. Many Plan and Order stores have pick-up points, which allow customers to collect their purchases when and where it's convenient for them.
“At IKEA, we’ve always believed that a better everyday life starts at home—and that belief is at the heart of everything we do," said Rob Olson, chief operating officer at IKEA U.S., in an emailed statement to Paste BN. "As we expand across the U.S., our goal is simple: to be there for our customers, wherever they are and however they choose to shop."
"Whether it’s through our new small-format stores, our Plan & order points, or a more seamless digital experience, we’re working to make IKEA more accessible and convenient than ever before," Olson said in the statement.

Where is IKEA planning to open new locations?
According to IKEA, the company plans to open three more Plan and Order points with pick-up and three large-format stores before the end of the year, with at least two more on the horizon for 2026.
The three Plan and Order points with pick-up opening include:
- Cherry Hill, New Jersey: Opening in June
- Beaverton, Oregon: Opening in June
- Hunt Valley, Maryland: Opening in July
The three large-format stores opening include:
- San Marcos, Texas: Opening in July
- McAllen, Texas: Opening in October
- Dallas, Texas: Opening in December
The two large-format stores so far set to open in 2026 include:
- Rockwall, Texas
- Phoenix, Arizona
Where has IKEA already opened locations in 2025?
The furniture company has already opened four Plan and Order points with pick-up in 2025, and one additional pick-up point location.
The four Plan and Order point locations it has opened include:
- Scottsdale, Arizona
- Thousand Oaks, California
- Ontario, California
- Colma, California
The company opened one pick-up point location in Santa Monica, California. According to a news release from IKEA, the pick-up point offers a "blend of online and offline shopping," enabling customers to place any order in store or on IKEA.com and pick it up for free the next day. "This location also offers the full range of IKEA services, with the support of our home furnishings experts, including delivery, assembly, and financing," the company said.
