More than 5,000 baby high chairs sold exclusively at Amazon were recalled over risk of serious injury or fatal fall and for being an entrapment hazard.

Boyro Baby, a children's high chair manufacturer, issued a recall May 15 for its high chairs sold on Amazon for not meeting U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's safety requirements and for being a hazard to babies.

"The seat cushion of our Boyro Baby children’s high chair does not meet the CPSC’s safety requirements for children’s products," the brand said in an advisory. "The high chairs pose a deadly fall hazard to babies because the restraint system is not attached to the product and the locks or latches can fail."

The high chairs are also an entrapment hazard because the opening between the seat and tray is large enough for a child to get stuck, the company said.

While no injuries have been reported, per the advisory, the company urged consumers to stop using the high chairs immediately and follow the instructions for disassembly and destruction.

Which product is included in the recall?

Boyro Baby-branded 4-in-1 high chairs, sold in green, gray and pink with a removable seat cushion, detachable tray, footrest and storage space underneath the seat were included in the recall, according to the advisory.

The product, which converts from a high chair into a low chair, rocking chair and slide, was sold exclusively at Amazon.com from October 2023 to November 2024 for between $70 and $90. About 5,400 units of the product were included in the recall.

What should you do if you purchased the affected products?

Those who purchased the affected highchairs should immediately stop using it, disassemble it and contact Boyro Baby for instructions on how to receive a full refund.

The company said instructions will include details on how to cut the restraint system and seat cushions. Once consumers have taken the necessary actions and emailed photos of the disassembled and destroyed pieces of the high chair to boyrobaby@outlook.com, Boyro Baby will issue a refund.

Customers can also visit Boyro Baby's website or email the company at boyrobaby@outlook.com for further details and information on how to destroy the affected products.
