Lexus proves a hybrid can still be a hot performer

A hybrid that you can hot rod.

That's what Lexus has in mind for the 2015 GS 450h Hybrid with the new F Sport performance package.

The sedan can rocket from zero to 60 miles per hour in 5.6 seconds, its main attraction being that it gives V-8 performance with a six-cylinder engine. GS hybrid gets 31 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving.

To underscore the car's road prowess, the sport package substitutes the 18-inch wheels for 19-inchers, with wider wheels in back, to make it appear more powerful and fast.

The package also has other touches to make the car appear racier, like a new front and rear valance, tuned adaptive variable suspension and a 16-way power sport seat. There's also aluminum trim, pedals and door scuff panels.
