Recall ordered for a single car
Automakers usually recall cars to repair safety defects by the hundreds, thousands or even millions. Then there is Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg, which just went through all the paperwork to recall a single car. Just one.
The car in question is a 2013 Koenigsegg Agera that has a balky tire pressure monitoring system.
In its filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Koenigsegg says the car, made in December 2012, may have an tire pressure monitoring light that won't illuminate after the car is restarted. If the light won't illuminate, the owner has no way of knowing for sure that the tire pressure could be dangerously low and the car could crash.
The solution is easy. Koenigsegg simply created a software update to fix the issue. And, it adds, "Koenigsegg has notified the owner."
At least there's one recall where there will be no doubt that owner was reached.
