SEASIDE, Calif. — If the ultimate in 1960s transportation is your goal, it would be hard to beat the bubbletopped Peel Trident.

With its fiberglass body and putt-putt engine, it's a groovy car, baby.

Dick Tuttle of Santa Clara, Calif., came here over the summer to show it off at the Concours d'Lemons, a show of odd cars, in all of its putt-putt glory.

Even though the 1964 Peel's power is limited, Tuttle is fairly fearless in taking it on the road. But then again, the car is so strange looking that the only fear of being run down is from those craning to get a better photo of it.
