Mercedes hints at new menacing racing car

Mercedes-Benz and its AMG performance unit hope to shake up the Geneva Motor Show next month with a new high-performance, low-slung racing machine -- the Mercedes-AMG GT3. The German brand just released a single teaser photo

Mercedes says it is a "new customer sport racing car" that complies with FIA GT3 racing rules. The goal is to offer exceptional track performance.

As new models started trickling out this week ahead of Geneva, automakers are clearly putting higher premium on track-oriented cars, one of the most closely watched auto shows. For now, though, Mercedes isn't saying a lot more about this model.
