Kia hopes new Optima shakes up New York Auto Show

Kia hopes to turn heads again when it introduces its latest version of the Optima sedan at the New York Auto Show.

If the next version comes close to renderings that Kia unveiled Wednesday night, it may have another hit.

Optima is Kia's best-selling vehicle in the U.S. It caused a stir at the New York Auto Show in 2010 because it was such a clean, high-style design and clearly differentiated from the sedan with which it shares the same platform, the Hyundai Sonata.

The new Kia will be unveiled April 1.
