Toyota's global net income zooms 19% to $19.8B
Toyota saw its global net income zoom 19.2% to $19.8 billion during its fiscal year compared to the previous year, and expects another year of record profits.
The Japanese automaker says global sales decreased by 144,169 vehicles to 8.97 million despite vigorous sales in North America and better sales in Europe for the fiscal year ended March 31. At the same time, it saw fewer sales for the fiscal year in Japan and some other sales regions.
Toyota says its net revenues were $248 billion, up 6%.
Next fiscal year, Toyota doesn't expect to sell quite as many vehicles global as in the past fiscal year.
It forecasts net income coming in slightly below last year's level at $19.6 billion when translated into dollars, but in yen, it will be another record.
Toyota is predicting global sales of 8.9 million cars and trucks.
