BMW unveils hot little M2 coupe

BMW has unveiled a new hot, little performance coupe for 2016 -- the M2.

The M2, which goes on sale next spring, is a successor to the 1 M Coupe.

It has a more powerful turbocharged 3-liter six-cylinder engine, is rear-wheel drive and has a lightweight aluminum suspension. The engine puts out 365 horsepower and has 70 more foot-pounds of torque than past M3.

Zero to 60 miles per hour comes in 4.2 seconds. The car has a maximum speed of 155 mph.

The new BMW M2 has an optional seven-speed double-clutch transmission. No price yet. BMW says that will come closer to launch.
