Infiniti makes play for Millennials with QX30
LOS ANGELES -- In a bid to attract well-heeled Millennials, Infiniti has unveiled a new, small, premium crossover -- the QX30 -- for the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Infiniti is hoping to wins the hearts of younger, affluent drivers with the swoopy lines of the QX30, then the all-wheel-drive, high ride height and space that it hopes will close the deal.
The Nissan luxury brand says more of the half the buyers of crossovers will be Gen X and Gen Y by 2020.
Even though it is aimed at the young, it will have some of the features that make luxury appeal to older customers. For instance, Infiniti says QX30 will have the quietest interior in its segment.
The seats, too, will be designed for spinal support -- even though most of the target buyers are probably still years off from back problems.
It will have intelligent all-wheel drive.QX30 will come with a choice of engines, but Infiniti isn't saying what they are yet. One thing for certain is it will have a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
