DETROIT -- Talk about tough.

Nissan startled truck world by introducing its redone Titan as a near-heavy duty vehicle, complete with a powerful diesel engine. Now, it is going further.

For the North American International Auto Show, Nissan displayed an even tougher version, a concept called the Titan Warrior.

It were headed for sale, it would be aimed at the off-road, show-truck crowd with both rugged and dress-up features.

The truck sports 37-inch tires an an extra three inches of suspension travel, aimed at helping it get over basically any terrain. For show, it has fancy quad chrome tailpipes in the rear and LED lights on top of the cab.

"Truck buyers have a seemingly insatiable appetite for more content and more unique offerings," said José Muñoz, who heads Nissan North America.

The concept doesn't stray far from realty. Truck buyers are notorious for dressing up their rigs. There are sure to plenty of aftermarket parts for Titan that will allow owners to come up with something as good as, or better than, Titan Warrior.
