Ford's February sales fall in China
Ford's sales in China fell 8.7% in February from a year earlier, the company reported today.
The Dearborn-based automakers sell vehicles in China through three channels. The first is Changan Ford Automobile, its passenger car joint venture. Changan Ford's sales dropped 10% last month.
The second is Jiangling Motor, its commercial vehicle joint venture. Jiangling's sales increased 2.8%.
The third and smallest component of Ford's China sales are vehicles imported from other countries. Those sales dropped 50% to 1,033.
In a press release the automaker pointed out that due to strong sales in January, its sales in China for the first two months are up 18% from the same period of 2015.
