Aston Martin reveals Zagato design for new concept car

Luxury car maker Aston Martin has turned to Italian design house Zagato to come up with its latest stunning concept car, the Vanquish Zagato.

The design, to be shown at an auto show this weekend in Lake Como, Italy, was inspired by racing cars. The Vanquish Zagato has a sleek curvy exterior with a wing in back and distinctive round tail lights, Aston says.it is the fifth Zagato design for Aston stretching over five decades.

“We pride ourselves on our strong partnership and the creation of the Vanquish Zagato Concept was a true shared experience,” Zagato's CEO, Andrea Zagato, says in a statment. "It represents the essence of an important design relationship that dates back over fifty years.”

The body is made of lightweight carbon fiber. And just to underscore that it is a Zagato, there is a "Z" design in the quilted stitch pattern used on the seats and the doors, Aston says.
