Mazda recalls over 220,000 cars, including CX-3 and Mazda3, for rear-view camera issue

Mazda is recalling over 200,000 vehicles for issues with the rear-view camera.

The affected vehicles include the Mazda3 from 2014-2018 and CX-3 from 2016-2021, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced, noting 227,335 vehicles are potentially affected.

The recall stems from an issue with the rear-view camera image, which displays a flickering or distorted image.

For owners of the recalled Mazdas, dealers will inspect and replace the rear-view camera if necessary, free of charge.

Owners may contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500 Option 6. Mazda's number for this recall is 6023G. More information is available here.

Notification letters are scheduled to be mailed to vehicle owners Sept. 12, the NHTSA said.
