Not just for kids: Goldfish crackers announces name change to appeal to adult snackers

The snack that smiles back has a new name.
The beloved Goldfish cracker's new name will temporarily be Chilean Sea Bass Crackers, the brand announced Wednesday.
The name change comes as the brand aims to expand its appeal toward adult snackers, including Millennials and Gen Z adults, the company announced.
"We know the love for Goldfish spans all ages. Chilean Sea Bass is a playful nod to adults that the iconic fish-shaped snack is for grown-up tastes too," Goldfish Vice President Danielle Brown said in a news release.
Goldfish lovers of all age groups can order two bags of Chilean Sea Bass crackers for $7.38 while supplies last as of Wednesday at ChileanSeaBassCrackers.com. The company teased "new drops of inventory" through Oct. 30.
Brand previous tried to allure adult snackers
The brand has recently aimed to allure adults through recent limited edition flavors.
Among these are the Goldfish OLD BAY Seasoned Crackers, which blended 18 herbs and spices to serve as a tangy topping for seafood and other meals.
In 2021, the brand also introduced the Goldfish Frank’s RedHot Crackers through a partnership with the Pepperidge Farm brand. The snack combined classic hot sauce ingredients like vinegar and aged cayenne peppers.
"The No. 1 requested flavor for Goldfish was hot and spicy," Campbell Snacks chief marketing officer Janda Lukin previously told Paste BN. "This flavor is for the older, mature audience, who requested and can handle the heat."
