A North Carolina man bought a $10 scratch-off ticket. He won $1 million.

Cha-ching! A lucky man hit the jackpot after winning the top prize on a $10 scratch-off ticket.

Samuel Foreman recently purchased the Money Rush ticket from a Greenville, North Carolina convenience store, according to state lottery officials.

Earlier this week, Foreman went to the lottery headquarters to collect his $1 million prize. He decided to walk away with a lump sum of $600,000, about $430,000 after taxes.

The NC Education Lottery said his other option was to receive a $50,000 annuity over a 20-year period. It's not clear what he plans to do with the money.

What is the $1,000,000 Money Rush scratch-off?

The 1,000,000 Money Rush scratch-off was released in January.

According to the lottery website, the rules are as follows: "Match any of YOUR NUMBERS to any of the WINNING NUMBERS, win PRIZE shown for that number. Reveal a "BILL" symbol, win that PRIZE instantly. Reveal a "5X" symbol, win 5 TIMES the PRIZE shown for that symbol."

Additionally, bonus earnings include the moneybag symbol, which means the player won $50, and the wallet, which means they won $100.

The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 1,354,380. There are two outstanding tickets with that amount left.
