Just two Netflix shows pulled down Emmy Awards that Mizuho describes as "key." "House of Cards" took Outstanding guest actor and "Orange is the New Black" took outstanding supporting actress. That's despite getting 34 nominations. Perhaps more concerning, several newer shows like "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," "Marco Polo" and "Daredevil" did not win any Emmy Awards, Mizuho says.
Amazon did relatively better, says Mizuho. The Amazon show "Transparent" brought home two awards – outstanding lead actor in a comedy series and outstanding director for a comedy series. Amazon shows got 12 nominations, up from none a year ago. HBO, in comparison, got 126 nominations, while AMC got 24 and Showtime 18.
