Report: Michael Moore visits Trump Tower

Filmmaker Michael Moore on Saturday visited Trump Tower in New York to meet with President-elect Donald Trump but ended up just leaving a note as the Secret Service stopped him from using the elevator, according to a transition team pool report.

Moore, who publicly predicted Trump would win the election, entered the Trump Tower shortly after 1 p.m. wearing a red San Francisco 49ers hat, seemingly with the goal of riding the elevator in the building. There had been a Trump protest going on outside the building, he said according to the report.

"I just thought I'd see if I could get into Trump Tower and ride the famous elevator." Moore was carrying a smartphone to film a Facebook Live broadcast or live transmission on the social networking site. "We'll see, maybe if he'll let me in this office."

Moore took a series of escalators telling those gathered around that "calling it gives me no pleasure," in connection with the fact he had predicted months ago that Trump would win the election. While moving toward the fourth floor of the building to reach the elevators, Moore criticized the Electoral College system, which allows a candidate to win the election even if the person trails with the popular vote. Secretary Hillary Clinton lost the election based on electoral votes but did win the most votes.

The Secret Service stopped Moore at the fourth floor, telling him he could not use the elevator or go any higher. Moore then descended back down the escalators and left a note with the doorman for Trump. "Mr. Trump. I'm here. I want to talk to you," the note said.
