Fidelity fixes internal glitch that hobbled online clients

Fidelity Investments said it has fixed an internal glitch that kept its online customers from logging into their accounts for a portion of Wednesday's trading day.
The mutual fund company confirmed to Paste BN that the issue was resolved.
"The site is back up," Fidelity spokesman Michael Aalto said. "We have addressed the issue. Everything is operational."
The outage was discovered soon after the opening of trading, which begins at 9:30 a.m. ET. The internal technical issue affected "anyone trying to log into their accounts online" until approximately 12 p.m., Aalto said.
During that time, Fidelity customers were able to place trades via phone, he added.
The issue affected all online accounts.
