Patrick Leavy of Kidd & Leavy Real Estate calls it one of the most iconic waterfront properties in Michigan that is available on the market right now.

Leavy is referring to the home he has listed for sale that is located on Balsam Lane in Boyne City. Called Randall’s Point on Walloon Lake, the 15-acre estate features a main log home, three guest cabins and over 2,100 feet of Walloon Lake frontage. It was purchased by the Randall family in the 1900s.

"Randall's Point is so historic, as it goes back to the 1920s," said Leavy. "Mr. Randall and his dear friend, Ernest Hemingway, foraged the centuries old red and white pines hunting grouse and woodcock. Back then there weren't a lot of houses on the lake."

"As you roll into the property it has a long driveway that winds through the trees," he continued. "Then you head down to the waterfront and its panoramic views. You can catch sunrises and sunsets on both sides."

The property includes a main log home and three cabins. While the original barn and boathouse remain on the property, the three log cabins were all built in the 1920s. The main log home was built in the 1970s and underwent a major renovation in 2001. Featuring a self-contained first floor master suite, hardwood floors, walls of windows, a stone fireplace and a chef’s kitchen, the house can comfortably sleep 14-16 people.

The Point Cottage is also a log structure and has one bedroom, one loft and one full bath. The North Nest Cottage has four bedrooms and two full baths. The Mess Hall is not a log structure and has three bedrooms and one full bath.

The property is currently listed for $18 million.
