The Buc-ee's empire expands: Where is the beloved convenience store opening next?
In some parts of the country, the next time a driver sees a beaver on the road, it might just be offering up some pulled pork sandwiches and a refill on gas.
Buc-ee's continues to expand its footprint of gargantuan gas stations with locations slated to open across the country.
The brand has created a cult-like following centered around its clean restrooms and above average culinary offerings. Founded in 1982, the Texas-based company has quickly become one of the state's most recognized exports.
It opened its first location west of Texas in Johnstown, Colorado in 2024 and is in the process of building its first location in the Southwest.
The company prides itself on its outsized stores, exemplified when it opened its largest location in Luling, Texas, last year – replacing the brand’s first family travel center with a 75,000 square feet temple to highway convenience.
Here's where Buc-ee's locations are opening next.
Where is Buc-ee's opening locations?
The company's website lists three locations with opening dates this year and a fourth slated for next year. Those locations are:
- Harrison County, Mississippi: 2025
- Brunswick, Georgia: 2025
- Rockingham County, Virginia: 2025
- Boerne, Texas: 2026
The Arizona Republic – a part of the Paste BN Network – reported that the first location in the state, which broke ground May 14, is scheduled to open in June 2026 in the Phoenix suburb of Goodyear. The location will be positioned right along Interstate 10 as people head to or from western Arizona and California.
The Savannah Morning News – also a part of the Paste BN Network – reported that the Buc-ee's in Brunswick, Georgia, is set to open on July 1. The paper also reported that Georgia's fourth Buc-ee's is being built in Monroe County and is set to open in early 2026.
The company plans to open its Huber Heights, Ohio location in April 2026, Buc-ee's spokesperson Crissy Gonzales told The Cincinnati Enquirer – a part of the Paste BN Network
A location in southwestern Florida is under consideration as a part of a trio of villages in Harborview, reported the News Press – a part of the Paste BN Network. The Buc-ee's would replace proposed housing in the West Village, according to the paper.
The Charlotte Observer reported that the location in Mebane, North Carolina is targeted for an opening in late 2026 or early 2027.
A location in Ocala, Florida broke ground in February, though no opening date has been set – according to FOX35 Orlando. The location there is aiming for a 2026 opening, reported Murfreesboro radio station WGNS.
The Benton Courier reported that the company's first location in Arkansas is expected to open by September 2026.
